Why it is important to study piano?
- Mastering the piano requires a tremendous amount of co-ordination (multi-tasking) which cultivates many useful mental skills. It focuses the mind, improving learning and memory.
- It is an applied art; with discipline (which is beneficial for life), one can acquire a skill.
- An opportunity for self-expression through music; the piano provides a pleasing tone immediately whereas study of another instrument may take weeks or months to achieve a standard tone.
- Playing piano improves coordination, and aural skills.
“The piano keys are black and white but they sound like a million colors in your mind.” – Maria Cristina Mena
